This study, with a screening of Fabry disease, allows the patients to make a precise diagnosis of their ischemic stroke and to facilitate the screening of the other members at the facility.

IschemiaStenosisThe aim of the study is to investigate the feasibility of Paclitaxel-eluting PTCA-balloon dilation (SeQuent Please) followed by bare metal stent (Coroflex ) deployment in the main branch (reference diameter: ≥ 2.5 mm and ≤ 3.8 mm, reference diameter of side branch: ≥ 2.0 mm and ≤ 3.5 mm, length of stenoses in either branch ≤ 20 mm) in the treatment of significant (>70%) de-novo-bifurcation stenoses of any Medina classification type in the native left coronary artery as reflected by procedural success and to evaluate the preservation of vessel patency.

PainRemote Ischemic PreConditioning (RIPC) will improve the postoperative pain experience in patients undergoing abdominal surgery. Although abdominal surgery can be a lifesaving procedure many people have a significant amount of postsurgical pain. Severe postsurgical pain may lead to chronic pain in some people. "Remote Ischemic Preconditioning" may reduce the amount of postsurgical pain. Remote ischemic preconditioning is done by inflating a balloon (very similar to a blood pressure cuff) on the leg until it blocks blood flow for a few minutes. The cuff is then deflated and blood flow resumes. The process is repeated up to three times. This procedure causes the body to increase its natural pain relief system that may help to decrease the amount of postsurgical pain.

Coronary DiseaseHealthy2 moreBlood flows to areas of the heart providing oxygen and fuel to the pumping muscle. Occasionally the arteries providing the fuel can become blocked. This occurs in coronary artery disease. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be used to evaluate the blood flow to different areas of the heart muscle. In this study magnetic resonance imaging will be compared to other diagnostic tests (radionucleotide perfusion studies) capable of measuring blood flow to heart muscle.
