A Study of Vaniprevir (MK-7009) in Participants With Chronic Hepatitis C Infection After Participation...
Hepatitis CChronicThis study will provide vaniprevir 600 mg or 300 mg twice daily in combination with pegylated interferon (peg-IFN) and ribavirin (RBV) to participants with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection who did not achieve viral eradication while participating in a prior vaniprevir clinical trial (MK-7009-004, NCT00518622; MK-7009-007, NCT00704405; MK-7009-009, NCT00704184; and MK-7009-029, NCT00954993).

Hepatitis C in a Cohort of Patients With Maintenance Therapy for Opiate Dependence - Prevalence,...
Hepatitis CHepatitis C is the leading cause of chronic liver disease in industrialized countries, and is the most common indication for liver transplantation. In the Western world, the absolute majority of cases of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) infection are related to the use of injectable narcotic drugs. Most injecting drug users contract HCV infection within the first years after starting injecting drug use. The aim of this study is to study hepatitis C in a cohort of patients registered in clinics providing maintenance therapy for opiate dependence in three metropolitan areas of Sweden. The cohort is defined as all patients registered in these three clinics at the date of study initiation. The study contains four parts: Part I: the first part of the study aims to evaluate the prevalence of HCV exposure in the cohort and the proportion of anti-HCV positive participants with chronic infection. Part II: Patients with chronic HCV infection will be offered further investigation of chronic liver disease, including liver biopsy, for selection of candidates for antiviral therapy and identification of risk factors for development of severe liver disease. Part III: Based on the results of these investigations, patients will be considered for antiviral therapy. Indications for such therapy will mainly be clinical and/or histological signs of chronic liver disease with fibrosis. All patients will receive weight-based doses of pegylated interferon-alfa-2b and ribavirin. Part IV: Study of pharmacokinetic interactions between ribavirin and opiate substitution molecule (methadone or buprenorphine) in patients receiving antiviral therapy according to part III.

Interferon-alpha Lozenges for Prevention of Relapse in Hepatitis C
Hepatitis CChronicThe purpose of this study is to determine whether lozenges of interferon-alpha that are dissolved in the mouth can prevent relapse in patients with hepatitis C virus infection who had a complete virologic response after receiving a combination of injected interferon-alpha and oral ribavirin.

Efficacy and Safety of Viusid in Patients With Hepatic Cirrhosis Secondary to Hepatitis C Virus...
CirrhosisChronic Hepatitis CThe purpose of the study is to evaluate whether Viusid, a nutritional supplement, reduce the mortality and the complications (ascites, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis, hepatorenal syndrome, hepatic encephalopathy, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis and hepatocellular carcinoma) of patients with cirrhosis of the liver secondary to HCV infection in comparison with placebo, during 96 weeks of treatment.

Pharmacokinetics of MK-3682B in Participants With Moderate to Severe Renal Insufficiency (MK-3682B-030)...
Hepatitis CThe purpose of this study is to compare the plasma pharmacokinetics (PK) of single doses of MK-3682B, a fixed dose combination (FDC) tablet containing uprifosbuvir (MK-3682) + grazoprevir (MK-5172) + ruzasvir (MK-8408) in participants with moderate (Part 1) and severe (Part 2) renal insufficiency (RI) to plasma PK in healthy participants.

Sofosbuvir, Ledipasvir, Ribavirin for Hepatitis C Cirrhotics, Genotype 1
Hepatitis CCirrhosisThe investigators will treat 50 patients with cirrhosis due to hepatitis C genotype 1, with sofosbuvir 400 mg daily, ledipasvir 90 mg daily and weight-based ribavirin (1000 mg/d if <75 kg, 1200 mg/d if >75 kg, divided in two daily doses) for 12 weeks and calculate the sustained viral response rate at 12 weeks.

Bioequivalence Trial of 2 Dose Strengths of BI 201335 NA Soft Gelatine Capsules
Hepatitis CThe objective is to investigate the bioequivalence of 2 dose strengths of 40 mg and 120 mg BI 201335 NA soft gelatine capsules.

Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of ABT-450/Ritonavir/ABT-267 (ABT-450/r/ABT-267) in Japanese...
Chronic Hepatitis C InfectionThis is a phase 3, double-blinded, multicenter study. The study will consist of 2 substudies: Substudy 1 (SS1) will be double-blinded and enroll non-cirrhotic subjects and Substudy 2 (SS2) will be open label and enroll subjects with compensated cirrhosis.

Grazoprevir (MK-5172) and Elbasvir (MK-8742) Combination in Treatment-Naïve Hepatitis C Virus Participants...
Hepatitis CThis is a randomized, parallel-group, placebo-controlled, multi-site, multinational, double-blind followed by open label period, Phase 3 trial of 100 mg of grazoprevir (MK-5172) in combination with 50 mg of elbasvir (MK-8742) (grazoprevir/elbasvir fixed-dose combination [FDC]) in treatment-naïve (TN) participants with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV), genotype (GT) 1, 4 or 6 infection. The primary hypothesis is that the percentage of participants receiving grazoprevir/elbasvir FDC in the Immediate Treatment Group (ITG) achieving Sustained Virologic Response 12 weeks after the end of all study therapy (SVR12) will be superior to the historical reference rate of 73%.

The SIM-SOF Trial for Hepatitis C
Chronic Hepatitis CRandomized trial of Hepatitis C-genotype 1-infected patients with compensated cirrhosis comparing the standard of care (Peginterferon/Ribavirin/Sofosbuvir) versus the off-label combination of simeprevir+ sofosbuvir without Ribavirin.
