Recurrent Non-small Cell Lung CancerRecurrent Prostate Cancer7 more

Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of combining GTI-2040 with docetaxel in treating patients who have recurrent, metastatic, or unresectable locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer, prostate cancer, or other solid tumors. GTI-2040 may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. It may also increase the effectiveness of docetaxel by making the tumor cells more sensitive to the drug. Combining GTI-2040 with docetaxel may kill more tumor cells

Irinotecan in Treating Children With Refractory Solid Tumors

Childhood Central Nervous System Germ Cell TumorChildhood Choroid Plexus Tumor20 more

This phase II trial is studying irinotecan to see how well it works in treating children with refractory solid tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

Cervical AdenocarcinomaCervical Adenosquamous Carcinoma3 more

This randomized phase III trial is studying four combination chemotherapy regimens using cisplatin to compare how well they work in treating women with stage IVB, recurrent, or persistent cancer of the cervix. Drugs used in chemotherapy such as cisplatin, paclitaxel, vinorelbine, gemcitabine, and topotecan, use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy regimen containing cisplatin is most effective in treating cervical cancer.

Vacuum-formed Retainer Versus Bonded Retainer to Prevent Relapse After Orthodontic Treatment

OrthodonticsRetention

The purpose of this trial is to evaluate and compare stability after orthodontic treatment with an Essix retainer and a bonded cuspid-to-cuspid retainer (CTC), respectively in the mandibular arch and longitudinally follow these patients over time up to 5 years. The patients' perceptions of the two methods are also evaluated with questionnaires during the follow-up period. A further aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between diagnosis, treatment outcome, treatment time, age at start of treatment and stability with an Essix retainer in the maxilla. The null hypotheses are: that there is no difference in retention capacity between Essix retainer and cuspid-to-cuspid retainer that there is no difference in patients' perception between Essix retainer and cuspid-to-cuspid retainer that there is no difference in retention capacity for Essix retainer in the maxilla concerning diagnosis before treatment, treatment outcomes, treatment time and age at start of treatment

Assessing the Endometrial Environment in Recurrent Pregnancy Loss and Unexplained Infertility

Recurrent Pregnancy LossUnexplained Infertility

The purpose of this study is to determine if patients with recurrent pregnancy loss or unexplained infertility have an altered uterine gene expression or uterine microbiome (micro-organism composition) during the window of embryo implantation. Furthermore we would like to assess for women with an abnormal uterine gene expression whether vaginal progesterone medication improves or alters gene expression and for women with an abnormal microbiome whether antibiotic treatment followed by probiotic treatment normalizes the microbiome.
