Qualitative Study of Suicidal Recrudescence Among Adolescents in November 2021

SuicideCOVID-19

A qualitative study, combining psychiatric and anthropological perspectives, focused on the lived experiences of patients who had recourse to HPNCL emergencies during the period of November 2021, as well as the experiences and perceptions of those around them - such as their family, teachers or school and nursing staff. This multi-site approach will provide a multidimensional perspective on the experience of individuals and those around them, as well as a triangulation of data. The hypotheses to explain the increase in the rate of suicidal crisis will be addressed through semi-structured interviews proposed to the participants of the study.

Prediction on the Recurrence of Manic and Depressive Episodes in Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar DisorderDepressive Disorder

Mood disorders (including bipolar disorder and major depressive disorder) are chronic mental disorders with high recurrent rate. The more the number of recurrence is, the worse long-term prognosis is. This study aims to establish a prediction model of recurrence of manic and depressive episodes in mood disorders, with a hope to detect recurrence relapse as early as possible for timely clinical intervention. We will adopt wearable smart watch to collect heart rate, sleep pattern, activity level, as well as emotional status for one year long in 100 patients with bipolar disorder, and annotated their mood status (i.e., manic episode, depressive episode, and euthymic state). We expect to establish prediction models to predict the recurrence of mood episodes.

Collection and Storage of Tissue and Blood Samples From Patients With Cancer

LymphomaMalignant Solid Neoplasm5 more

This research trial collects and stores tissue and blood samples from patients with cancer. Collecting and storing samples of tissue and blood from patients with cancer to study in the laboratory may help scientists create new and better models to learn about cancer and to test new cancer drugs.

Rare Disease Patient Registry & Natural History Study - Coordination of Rare Diseases at Sanford...

Rare DisordersUndiagnosed Disorders316 more

CoRDS, or the Coordination of Rare Diseases at Sanford, is based at Sanford Research in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It provides researchers with a centralized, international patient registry for all rare diseases. This program allows patients and researchers to connect as easily as possible to help advance treatments and cures for rare diseases. The CoRDS team works with patient advocacy groups, individuals and researchers to help in the advancement of research in over 7,000 rare diseases. The registry is free for patients to enroll and researchers to access. Visit sanfordresearch.org/CoRDS to enroll.

Long-term Outcomes, Recurrence Rates, and Treatment Needs in Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy (PCV)...

Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy

To determine long-term outcomes, recurrence rates, and treatment needs in Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy (PCV). Specifically, to describe the long-term outcomes, recurrence rates and treatment patterns PCV patients 5 years after first presentation. This study will also evaluate whether polyp closure within the first 12 months of therapy is associated with better long-term visual outcome and will also determine the risk of disease development in the fellow eye

Relationship Between 18FDG PET/MRI Patterns and ctDNA to Predict HCC Recurrence After Liver Transplantation...

Hepatocellular Carcinoma

Liver transplantation is the standard treatment for patients with early-stage Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC). Currently, important treatment decisions, like the selection of patients for transplantation, are made on crude, static tumour characteristics such as the size and number of lesions that do not reflect other aspects of tumour biology. To date, pre-transplantation percutaneous biopsy is the best strategy to assess tumoral differentiation and, consequently, tumor biological behavior. Previous studies have demonstrated that 18F-Fluorodeoxyglucose Positron Emission Tomography Magnetic Resonance Imaging (18F-FDG PET/MRI) may have role in assessing the HCC tumoral differentiation and predict survival after LT. The Investigators will assess the accuracy of 18F-FDG PET/MRI as a tool to predict HCC recurrence after liver transplant. To understand the role of 18F-FDG PET/MRI in prediction of HCC's biological behavior and upon recurrence, the investigators will try to assess whether the findings in 18F-FDG PET/MRI can predict HCC poor tumoral differentiation, if the findings in 18F-FDG PET/MRI are related to presence of circulating tumoral DNA in plasma and try to determine the role of 18F-FDG PET/MRI in predicting HCC recurrence after resection. These findings may impact the selection criteria for liver transplantation.
