Decision Making About Participating in Pharmacokinetic Studies in Patients Enrolled in a Phase I...
Brain and Central Nervous System TumorsLeukemia4 moreRATIONALE: Gathering information about why patients or their guardians agree or decline to participate in the optional pharmacokinetic portion of a phase I treatment study may help doctors plan clinical trials in the future. PURPOSE: This clinical trial is looking at decision making about participating in pharmacokinetic studies in patients enrolled in a phase I treatment clinical trial.

Natural Killer Index From Hematopoietic Stem Cell Graft
Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaAcute Myeloblastic Leukemia1 moreNumerous studies about the potential role of NK alloreactive during a n hematopoietic stem cells graft are based on genotypical analyses of the KIR receptors and on genotypic incompatibilities between KIR and HLA for couple donor/recipient. There is still a lot of issues non resolved: Are KIR really expressed and how occur their expression during time when hematopoietic reconstitution? Is it depending on HLA of the recipient? If KIR are expressed, what are the mechanisms of alloreactivity of NK cells? Are NK able to lyse tumoral cells? Could alloreactive NK cells constitute a therapeutic tool able to induce tolerance and elimination of leukemia during hematopoietic stem cells grafts?

Quality of Life of Patients With Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) or Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)...
Acute Myelogenous LeukemiaMyelodysplastic SyndromePrimary Objectives: To compare the neuropsychiatric (NP) and neurocognitive (NC) symptoms and assess the quality of life (QOL) in older patients (age > 18) with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) or high-risk myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) receiving different therapies, chemotherapy (Clofarabine + ara-C) or targeted therapies (PKC412 + low-dose ara-C, or R115777 + low-dose ara-C, or decitabine, or STI + low-dose ara-C). To determine whether there is a correlation between the number of packed red blood cell (PRBC) transfusions and cognitive scores and/or QOL.

Prospective Study on the Feasibility of Plasma FLT3-Ligand Assay to Achieve a First Estimate of...
Acute LeukemiaDespite advances in their classification and treatment, acute leukemia remain incurable disease for the majority of patients. It is necessary to identify new prognostic markers of survival and new therapeutic targets to improve prognosis. Some studies have shown that Fms-like tyrosine kinase 3-ligand (FLT3-L) could be interesting from this. A more recent study from our group testing a novel therapy in acute lymphoblastic leukemia, showed an increase of this marker in the blood of patients responding to treatment. The aim of our prospective, non-interventional study is to measure the plasma levels of FLT3-L at different times of the management of patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia but also myeloid. For this, analyzes of the samples collected in the usual care will be conducted to study the relationship between the plasma concentration of FLT3-L and outcomes. If there is any link, the FLT3-L could serve as a predictor of treatment response.

informCLL™: A Disease Registry for Patients With Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)The study is designed as a multicenter, prospective, observational registry of CLL/SLL patients who are initiating approved oral kinase inhibitors, BCL-2 inhibitors or other approved anti-CLL therapies/regimens. The study will characterize treatment patterns and their association with patient characteristics, healthcare resource utilization, and clinical outcomes, as well as patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures.

Early Palliative Care in Patient With Acute Leukaemia
Acute Leukaemia in RelapseSeveral studies have shown that patients with acute leukemia have many symptoms during disease These symptoms decrease the quality of life and may even appear or worsen other symptoms such as depression Several studies point to the involvement of supportive care and palliative care is delayed in these patients The aim of this study is to evaluate the impact on the quality of life of an early and standardized involvement of a support / palliative care team for patients with acute leukemia in first relapse compared to a control group .

Hyper-CVAD Treatment of Adult T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Sweden.
T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic LeukemiaHyper-CVAD (a chemotherapy regimen) has shown promising results in adult T-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (T-ALL). Patients with T-ALL diagnosis were reported to the Swedish Adult Acute Leukemia Registry between October 2002 and September 2006. Hyper-CVAD was recommended to all patients without severe comorbidity. Allogeneic stem cell transplantation was recommended for patients with high-risk disease. The aim of this population-based study was to assess the efficacy of Hyper-CVAD treatment.

Exercise and Quality of Life in Leukemia Patients
Acute LeukemiaThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of an exercise intervention on patient-reported anxiety, depression, fatigue, and sleep disturbances among acute leukemia patients. The investigators hypothesize that exercise will reduce fatigue in acute leukemia patients.
