Ruxolitinib Phosphate, Tacrolimus and Sirolimus in Preventing Acute Graft-versus-Host Disease During...

Acute Myeloid Leukemia in RemissionPrimary Myelofibrosis4 more

This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of ruxolitinib phosphate when given together with tacrolimus and sirolimus in preventing acute graft-versus-host disease during reduced intensity donor hematopoietic cell transplant in patients with myelofibrosis. Sometimes transplanted cells from a donor can attack the normal tissue of the transplant patient called graft-versus-host disease. Ruxolitinib phosphate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. It may also reduce graft-versus-host disease by reducing inflammation and immune modulation. Giving ruxolitinib phosphate together with tacrolimus and sirolimus after transplant may prevent graft-versus-host disease.

Mobile Intervention to Improve Adherence of Oral Anti-cancer Medications Among Acute Myeloid Leukemia...

Acute Myeloid Leukemia

This clinical trial studies how well a mobile intervention consisting of a text messaging program and an electronic "smart" pill bottle with medication reminders works to improve adherence to oral anti-cancer medications among patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Medication adherence is how well patients take medications as prescribed by their doctors, and good medical adherence is when patients take medications correctly. Poor medication adherence has been shown to be a barrier to effective treatment. Collecting feedback on patient experiences using the mobile intervention may help doctors design new methods and material for providing educational information to AML patients who are taking oral anti-cancer medications.

Mechanical Stimulation in Preventing Bone Density Loss in Patients Undergoing Donor Stem Cell Transplant...

Accelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous LeukemiaAdult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission103 more

This pilot clinical trial studies mechanical stimulation in preventing bone density loss in patients undergoing donor stem cell transplant. Mechanical stimulation may limit, prevent, or reverse bone loss, increase muscle and cardiac performance, and improve overall health

Phase 1B- Open Label Dose-Ranging Study of Oral AFX-2 in Adults With Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia...

LeukemiaLymphocytic2 more

This trial will assess the tolerability and safety of AFX-2 over a range of five dose levels in adults with low-, intermediate- or high-risk Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL). The trial will also determine the impact of dose on quality of life indices and on biological and immune responses, and will assess if there is a maximum tolerated dose and/or dose-limiting toxicity in this study population.

Antimicrobial Solution or Saline Solution in Maintaining Catheter Patency and Preventing Catheter-Related...

Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersInfection8 more

RATIONALE: Antimicrobial solution comprising trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, edetate calcium disodium, and ethanol may help prevent blockages and infections from forming in patients with central venous access catheters or peripheral venous catheters. PURPOSE: This randomized trial is studying an antimicrobial solution or saline solution in maintaining catheter patency and preventing catheter-related blood infections in patients with malignancies.

Recombinant Human Mannose-Binding Lectin (MBL) in Treating Young Patients With MBL Deficiency and...

FeverSweats8 more

RATIONALE: Recombinant human mannose-binding lectin (MBL) may be effective in preventing infection in young patients with fever and neutropenia receiving chemotherapy for blood disease or cancer. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of recombinant human mannose-binding lectin in treating young patients with MBL deficiency and fever and neutropenia.

Intravenous Ixazomib in Pediatric Participants With Relapsed or Refractory Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia...

Precursor Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia-lymphoma

The purpose of this study is to determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and/or recommended phase 2 dose (RP2D), safety and toxicity, and pharmacokinetics (PK) of ixazomib administered intravenously in combination with multiagent reinduction chemotherapy in pediatric participants with relapsed/refractory ALL or LLy.

Amifostine & High-Dose Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Patients With Acute ML or CML

Drug/Agent Toxicity by Tissue/OrganLeukemia2 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Chemoprotective drugs, such as amifostine, may protect normal cells from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of amifostine and high-dose combination chemotherapy in treating patients with acute myeloid leukemia or chronic myelogenous leukemia.

OTI-010 for Graft-Versus-Host Disease Prophylaxis in Treating Patients Who Are Undergoing Donor...

Graft Versus Host DiseaseLeukemia1 more

RATIONALE: OTI-010 may be effective for graft-versus-host disease prophylaxis (prevention) in patients who are undergoing donor peripheral stem cell transplantation for hematologic malignancies (cancer of the blood or bone marrow). PURPOSE: This randomized phase II trial is studying how well OTI-010 works in preventing graft-versus-host disease in patients who are undergoing donor peripheral stem cell transplantation for hematologic cancer.
