The purpose of this study is to determine the recommended dose for the combination of dasatinib and bendamustine in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).

The goal of this clinical study is to learn if Pegasys (pegylated interferon) or Roferon (interferon) can make the Trivalent Inactivated Influenza vaccine (TIV) more effective in increasing the body's immune reaction against the flu virus in patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL).

Patients who undergo chemotherapy for leukemia will receive study medication for prevention of fungal infections. The study investigates the safety and tolerability of two different dosages, the efficacy in prevention of fungal diseases.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as talotrexin, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of talotrexin in treating young patients with recurrent solid tumors or leukemia that is recurrent or does not respond to treatment.

This is a double blind, placebo controlled clinical trial, where patients with an advanced form of blood cancer are treated with haploidentical allogeneic peripheral blood progenitor cell (PBPC) transplant after which they are randomised to receive either placebo or a keratinocyte growth factor (Palifermin or Kepivance®). The function of Kepivance® is to stimulate the growth of epithelial cells. This drug has also been suggested to have an ability to help improve the reconstitution, or development, of the immune system after the transplantation. The hypothesis is that the patients T-cell dependent humoral immune response to recall antigen (PrevenarTM) will be higher in in palifermin treated patients than in the placebo control group

A Randomized Multicenter Phase III Study to Evaluate the Role of All-trans Retinoic Acid (ATRA) in Combination with Induction Chemotherapy, or Azacitidine and Idarubicin as salvage therapy and Idarubicin with Cytarabine or Azacitidine as Maintenance Therapy in Older Patients with Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia (AML). To compare the outcome of elderly patients with newly-diagnosed AML treated with standard induction chemotherapy and post-remission therapy, in only patients in CR, with either azacitidine or cytarabine combined to idarubicin +/- ATRA and salvage therapy with azacitidine combined to idarubicin +/- ATRA.

The goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose of clofarabine when given to patients with CLL. The safety of this drug will also be studied.
