BMS-354825 in Treating Patients With Chronic Phase Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia That Is Resistant...

Leukemia

RATIONALE: BMS-354825 may stop the growth of cancer cells by stopping the enzymes necessary for cancer cell growth. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of BMS-354825 in treating patients with chronic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia that is resistant to imatinib mesylate.

Rituximab, Rasburicase, and Combination Chemotherapy in Treating Young Patients With Newly Diagnosed...

Childhood Burkitt LymphomaChildhood Diffuse Large Cell Lymphoma10 more

Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining rituximab and rasburicase with combination chemotherapy in treating young patients who have newly diagnosed advanced B-cell leukemia or lymphoma. Monoclonal antibodies such as rituximab can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug with rituximab may kill more cancer cells. Chemoprotective drugs such as rasburicase may protect kidney cells from the side effects of chemotherapy.

B-cell Chronic Lymphocytic LeukemiaRecurrent Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma2 more

This phase I/II trial studies the side effects and best dose of flavopiridol in treating patients with previously treated chronic lymphocytic leukemia or lymphocytic lymphoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy such as flavopiridol work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

Ixabepilone in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Lymphoproliferative Disorders

LeukemiaLymphoma

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of ixabepilone in treating patients who have relapsed or refractory lymphoproliferative disorders.

Arsenic Trioxide and Imatinib Mesylate in Treating Patients With Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for cancer cell growth. Combining chemotherapy with imatinib mesylate may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of combining arsenic trioxide with imatinib mesylate in treating patients who have chronic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia.

Fludarabine/Carboplatin/Topotecan w/Thalidomide for Relapsed/Refractory AML, CML and MDS

LeukemiaMyelodysplastic Syndromes1 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Thalidomide may stop the growth of cancer cells by stopping blood flow to the tumor. Combining chemotherapy with thalidomide may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining fludarabine, carboplatin, and topotecan with thalidomide in treating patients who have relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia, or advanced myelodysplastic syndromes.

High-Dose Chemotherapy, Total-Body Irradiation, and Autologous Stem Cell Transplantation or Bone...

Breast CancerLeukemia7 more

RATIONALE: Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage cancer cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with autologous stem cell transplantation or autologous bone marrow transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well eight different high-dose chemotherapy regimens with or without total-body irradiation followed by autologous stem cell transplantation or autologous bone marrow transplantation works in treating patients with hematologic malignancies or solid tumors.

Combination Chemotherapy Followed By Umbilical Cord Blood Transplantation in Treating Patients With...

Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersLeukemia4 more

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Umbilical cord blood transplantation may be able to replace cells destroyed by chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy followed by umbilical cord blood transplantation in treating patients who have hematologic cancer or severe aplastic anemia.

Treatment of Chronic Lymphocytic B-Leukemia With IL-2 and CD-40 Autologous Tumor Cells

Chronic Lymphocytic B-Leukemia

This is a research study to determine the safety and dosage of special cells that may make the patients own immune system fight the cancer. To do this, we will put a special gene into cancer cells that have been taken from the patient. This will be done in the laboratory. This gene will make the cells produce interleukin 2 (IL-2), which is a natural substance that may help the immune system kill cancer cells. Additionally, we will stimulate the cancer cells with another natural protein called CD40 ligand (CD40L), which preclinical human and animal studies suggest will help IL-2 perform better. Some of these cells will then be put back into the body. The cells are grown with normal embryonic fibroblasts. Studies of cancers in animals and in cancer cells that are grown in laboratories suggest that combining substances like IL-2 and CD40L helps the body kill cancer cells. The purpose of this study is to learn the side effects and the safest effective dose of these special cells on the disease

Study of Liposomal Annamycin for the Treatment of Subjects With Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML)

LeukemiaMyeloid1 more

This is a multi-center, open-label, dose escalation study that will determine the maximum tolerated dose (MTD) and recommended Phase 2 dose (RP2D) of liposomal annamycin as a single agent for the treatment of subjects with AML that is refractory to or relapsed after standard induction therapy
