Recurrent Adult Acute Myeloid LeukemiaAcute Lymphoblastic Leukemia2 moreThe first goal of this clinical research study is to find the highest safe dose of BP1001, a liposomal Growth Factor Receptor Bound Protein-2 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (L-Grb2 AS), for patients with Philadelphia Chromosome positive CML, AML, ALL and MDS. The response of the leukemia to this treatment will also be studied. The second goal of this clinical research study is to evaluate the safety and toxicity of the combination of BP1001 and concurrent low-dose ara-C (LDAC) in patients with AML.

Chronic Lymphocytic LeukemiaThe purpose of this study is to establish the safety and efficacy of a combination of dexamethasone and lenalidomide (Revlimid®) (D+L) in subjects with relapsed or refractory CLL who have failed or are unable to tolerate standard up-front therapy with regimens containing Fludarabine or in those with mutations in the p53 gene, CAMPATH-1H.

Azacitidine (AZA) in Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)
LeukemiaThis is a 2 part study. The goal of the first part of this clinical research study is to find the highest tolerable dose of azacitidine that can be given with a TKI that you are already taking (such as Gleevec, Sprycel, or Tasigna). The safety of this drug will also be studied. The goal of the second part is to see if this combination may improve your response to the TKI you are already taking. Azacitidine is designed to change genes that are thought to cause leukemia. By changing these genes, the drug may help to stop them from causing the disease to grow.

Acute Biphenotypic LeukemiaAcute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in Remission7 moreThis phase II trial studies how well giving treosulfan together with fludarabine phosphate and total-body irradiation (TBI) works in treating patients with hematological cancer who are undergoing umbilical cord blood transplant (UCBT). Giving chemotherapy, such as treosulfan and fludarabine phosphate, and TBI before a donor UCBT helps stop the growth of cancer cells and helps stop the patient's immune system from rejecting the donor's stem cells. When the stem cells from a related or unrelated donor, that do not exactly match the patient's blood, are infused into the patient, they may help the patient's bone marrow make stem cells, red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Sometimes the transplanted cells from a donor can also make an immune response against the body's normal cells. Giving cyclosporine (CsA) and mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) after the transplant may stop this from happening.

Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving dasatinib together with combination chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells.

Bortezomib may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking blood flow to the cancer and by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving azacytidine together with bortezomib may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of bortezomib when giving together with azacytidine in treating patients with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia or myelodysplastic syndromes.
