Oblimersen, Cytarabine, and Daunorubicin in Treating Older Patients With Acute Myeloid Leukemia...

Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia With 11q23 (MLL) AbnormalitiesAdult Acute Myeloid Leukemia With Inv(16)(p13;q22)4 more

Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combining oblimersen with cytarabine and daunorubicin in treating older patients who have previously untreated acute myeloid leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Oblimersen may help cytarabine and daunorubicin kill more cancer cells by making them more sensitive to chemotherapy.

Bryostatin 1 Plus Cladribine in Treating Patients With Relapsed Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of cladribine when given with bryostatin 1 in treating patients with relapsed chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Chemotherapy in Treating Children With Recurrent Acute Myeloid Leukemia

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of idarubicin and cladribine in treating children who have recurrent acute myeloid leukemia.

Adult Acute Megakaryoblastic Leukemia (M7)Adult Acute Minimally Differentiated Myeloid Leukemia (M0)13 more

Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of combination chemotherapy with or without PSC 833 followed by interleukin-2 or no further therapy in treating older patients who have acute myeloid leukemia. Some cancers become resistant to chemotherapy drugs. Combining PSC 833 with more than one chemotherapy drug may reduce resistance to the drugs and allow the cancer cells to be killed. Combining interleukin-2 with combination chemotherapy plus PSC 833 may kill more cancer cells.

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of paclitaxel in treating patients with refractory or recurrent acute leukemia or chronic myelogenous leukemia.

Chemotherapy and Biological Therapy in Treating Patients With Chronic Phase Chronic Myelogenous...

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining biological therapy with chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy with cytarabine and homoharringtonine and biological therapy with interferon alfa in treating patients with chronic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia.

Fludarabine and Monoclonal Antibody Therapy in Treating Patients With Untreated B-cell Chronic Lymphocytic...

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Monoclonal antibodies can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Combining monoclonal antibody therapy with chemotherapy may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to compare the effectiveness of fludarabine given with or without monoclonal antibody therapy followed by monoclonal antibody therapy alone in treating patients who have untreated B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

Monoclonal Antibody Followed by Bone Marrow Transplantation in Treating Patients With Acute Myelogenous...

Leukemia

RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate cancer cells and either kill them or deliver cancer-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. Monoclonal antibody combined with a radioactive substance and given prior to bone marrow transplantation may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of radiolabeled monoclonal antibody given prior to bone marrow transplantation in treating patients with acute myelogenous leukemia.

Topotecan in Treating Children With Refractory Leukemia

Leukemia

Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of topotecan in treating children with refractory leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die.

T-cell Depleted Bone Marrow and G-CSF Stimulated Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation From Related...

LeukemiaLymphoma2 more

RATIONALE: Bone marrow and peripheral stem cell transplantation may be able to replace immune cells that were destroyed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy used to kill cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of T-cell depleted bone marrow and G-CSF stimulated peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients with leukemia, lymphoblastic lymphoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, or aplastic anemia.
