Induction Intensification in Treating Infants With Newly Diagnosed Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia...
LeukemiaRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy work in different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one chemotherapy drug and giving them as induction intensification may kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well induction intensification works in treating infants with newly diagnosed acute lymphocytic leukemia.

Chemotherapy, Imatinib Mesylate, and Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients With...
Adult Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in RemissionThis phase II trial studies how well giving imatinib mesylate together with chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplantation works in treating patients with newly diagnosed acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for cancer cell growth. Giving imatinib mesylate together with chemotherapy and peripheral stem cell transplantation may be an effective treatment for acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Decitabine in Treating Patients With Melanoma or Other Advanced Cancer
Chronic Myeloproliferative DisordersLeukemia6 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of decitabine in treating patients with stage III or stage IV melanoma or other advanced cancer that has not responded to previous therapy.

Chemotherapy With Cordycepin Plus Pentostatin in Treating Patients With Refractory Acute Lymphocytic...
LeukemiaRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of chemotherapy consisting of cordycepin plus pentostatin in treating patients with refractory acute lymphocytic or chronic myelogenous leukemia.

Arsenic Trioxide in Treating Patients With Advanced Hematologic Cancer
LeukemiaLymphoma1 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of arsenic trioxide in treating patients who have advanced hematologic cancer.

Phase I/II Study of Escalating-Dose Melphalan w/Autologous SCS & Amifostine Cytoprotect
Breast CancerLeukemia6 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more tumor cells. Chemoprotective drugs such as amifostine may protect normal cells from the side effects of chemotherapy. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of high-dose melphalan plus peripheral stem cell transplantation and amifostine in treating patients with cancer.

LeukemiaRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining chemotherapy with peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy drugs and kill more cancer cells. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of high-dose chemotherapy plus peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients with chronic myelogenous or acute leukemia.

Decitabine and Peripheral Stem Cell Transplantation in Treating Patients Who Have Relapsed Following...
LeukemiaMyelodysplastic SyndromesRATIONALE: Peripheral stem cell transplantation may be an effective treatment for leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, or chronic myelogenous leukemia that has relapsed following bone marrow transplantation. PURPOSE: Phase I/II trial to study the effectiveness of decitabine and peripheral stem cell transplantation in treating patients who have leukemia, myelodysplastic syndrome, or chronic myelogenous leukemia that has relapsed after bone marrow transplantation.

PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of high-intensity, brief-duration chemotherapy in treating patients with relapsed or refractory acute lymphocytic leukemia.

Interleukin-2 in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
LeukemiaRATIONALE: Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill acute myelogenous leukemia cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of interleukin-2 in treating patients with acute myelogenous leukemia that has relapsed following previous treatment.
