NATURAL HISTORY-Hepatitis C Virus/ Human Immunodeficiency Virus Coinfection
Hepatitis CHIV1 moreThe purpose of this study was to describe the time course and extent of hemoglobin (Hb) changes and the erythropoietic response to PEG-IFN/RBV (Pegylated Interferon and Ribavirin)-induced anemia In HCV(hepatitis C virus)/HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) co-Infected subjects.

HCV Microfluidic Diagnostics
Hepatitis CHepatitis C diagnostic devices have been developed at the University of Hull to detect and quantify the Hepatitis C virus in patients' plasma and serum samples. This study aims to test the new point-of-care devices that are designed to be low cost and user-friendly. Excess, stored, HCV patients' plasma, serum and blood samples will be supplied by the Virology laboratory (Hull University Teaching Hospital's Trust; HUTH). These samples were taken and analysed as part of patients' clinical monitoring, and are stored prior to disposal in the Virology laboratory. The proposed study will use the samples in a fully anonymised manner.

Statins in Chronic Hepatitis C Patients Receiving Sofosbuvir/Daclatasvir Combination
Chronic Hepatitis cMetabolic SyndromeThe purpose of the study is to determine if statin can affect the clinical outcome of chronic hepatitis C patients receiving Sofosbuvir/Daclatasvir/Ribavirin combination

Orange Juice Consumption in Patients With Hepatitis C
Chronic InfectionThis study aimed to verify whether orange juice, source of citrus flavonoids and vitamin C, may contribute to the treatment of patients with chronic hepatitis C.

Efficacy and Safety of Ledipasvir/Sofosbuvir Fixed-Dose Combination for 8 Weeks in Subjects With...
Treatment of Hepatitis CTarget Population: Hepatitis C Treatment Naïve, non-cirrhotic, Chronic genotype 1 hepatitis C virus (HCV) infected adults that are co-infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1and have HCV RNA < 6 x106 IU/mL Duration of Subjects will be treated for 8 weeks and followed for 24 weeks post- Treatment: treatment

VBMI to Increase Treatment Completion With MK-MK-5172/MK-8742 Among Veterans With Active Substance...
Patient AdherenceChronic Hepatitis C1 moreThis study implement a values-based motivational interviewing (VBMI) intervention to promote treatment completion with fixed dose combination (FDC) MK-5172/MK-8742 x 12 weeks among 30 Veterans with substance use disorder (SUD) and treatment naïve genotype 1 chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection.

Pentoxyphilline Versus Fecal Microbiota Therapy in Severe Alcoholic Hepatitis
Alcoholic HepatitisTreatment for severe alcoholic hepatitis patients not eligible for steroid therapy is a dilemma. Pentoxyfilline has been shown to have no improvement in outcomes as per current studies and liver transplantation is with great risk of recidivism in this difficult to treat cohort of patients. Dysbiosis forms the central role in severe alcoholic hepatitis patients and modulation of gut microbiota by way of healthy donor fecal transplantation could prove to be a novel way to treating these patients who are ineligible for standard therapy. This study utilizes correction of dysbiosis in severe alcoholic hepatitis and surveys outcomes with the same with respect to survival and liver disease severity scores.

Stopping TDF Treatment After Long Term Virologic Suppression in HBeAg-negative CHB
Chronic Hepatitis BThe primary objective of this study is to evaluate hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) loss and seroconversion in participants who stop tenofovir disoproxil fumarate (TDF) (Stop TDF arm) compared to participants who continue TDF (Continue TDF arm). Only participants who already are on treatment with TDF monotherapy or TDF in combination with lamivudine or emtricitabine for at least 4 years and who achieved and maintained virologic suppression (< 400 copies/mL) for 3.5 or more years will be included in this study. One treatment arm will stop the TDF therapy while the other treatment arm will continue the TDF therapy. Participants in the Stop TDF arm will be monitored very closely with special focus on biochemical flares (especially alanine aminotransferase (ALT) increases) and virological relapses (Hepatitis B viral load increases). If any participant in the Stop TDF arm exceeds one or more predefined limits for such flares or relapses, TDF treatment will be reinstituted.

Efficacy of G-CSF in the Management of Steroid Non-responsive Severe Alcoholic Hepatitis
Severe Alcoholic HepatitisAfter successful screening, first the investigators first treat patients of severe alcoholic hepatitis with steroids for 7 days. Patients who are found to be unresponsive as per Lille's score [>0.45] would be randomized into either placebo group or G-CSF group. Responders to steroids will continue on steroids for 28 days followed by 2 weeks of tapering. Non responders will be randomized to receive G-CSF for 28days.

A Multiple Dose Study of Grazoprevir (MK-5172) in Hepatitis C-Infected Participants (MK-5172-010)...
Hepatitis CThe goal of this study was to compare hepatic pharmacokinetics (PK) derived from liver tissue to plasma PK after administration of grazoprevir (MK-5172) to participants with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Participants will be randomized to one of four different liver ultrasound-guided Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA) schedules (at 4-, 8-, 24-, or 72-hours after the Day 7 dose).
