This is three part study that will, in part one assess the safety, tolerability, and PK of a single dose of CRV431 in healthy volunteers. The second part of the study will be a single dose drug-drug interaction study in healthy volunteers with CRV431 co-treated with TDF. The third part of the study will assess the safety, tolerability, PK, and preliminary signal for antiviral efficacy and identification of clinically-relevant biomarkers of CRV431 with TDF in stable HBV patients.

Chronic Hepatitis B

This is a randomized, blinded, placebo-controlled, dose-ranging Phase 1b study of the safety, PK, and antiviral activity of ABI-H3733 in treatment-naïve or off-treatment chronic Hepatitis B virus (cHBV) subjects that are Hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) positive or negative. The study will enroll up to 5 sequential cohorts of 10 subjects each, for a total of up to 50 subjects, randomized 8:2 to receive ABI-H3733 or placebo.

Registry-based Study in Patients With Hepatitis D Virus (HDV) Infection in China

Hepatitis D

This is a retrospective, prospective, noninterventive, multicenter registry study. Patients diagnosed with HDV infection (based on positive HDV RNA) were included in this study and were followed up for at least 5 years to evaluate their disease progression and clinical outcomes (including death, liver transplantation, hepatocellular carcinoma [hcc], liver decompensation, and cirrhosis) during the 5-year follow-up period. All patients were followed up at least once a year after they were included in the study. It was in 2016 HDV infection first reported in China. Since January 1, 2016, all patients diagnosed with HDV infection can be enrolled in this study and evidence confirming the diagnosis (including but not limited to HDV RNA test reports and medical records, etc.) must be delivered. The main test results (including serum HDV RNA, ALT, and tests to determine the presence of liver cirrhosis, decompensation of liver function, and liver cancer such as B-ultrasound and FibroScan) of these patients each year from diagnosis to enrollment should be collected and filled in the case report form (CRF). Follow-up data of patients with serum anti-HDV positive and HDV RNA negative can be recorded and followed up on this platform, with informed consent of the patients is required. Patients whose serum HBV RNA turn positive during the follow-up period will be included in the follow-up cohort of the study.

Hepatitis C

This is an observational cohort study. Participants will be recruited from settings that provide services to people with a risk factor for the acquisition of HCV infection. Participants will attend a single visit to have HCV point-of-care testing. Participants who have not previously received HCV treatment will have a point-of-care HCV antibody test, followed by reflex point-of-care HCV RNA test if positive. Those who have a history of HCV treatment will proceed straight to point-of-care HCV RNA testing. Participants will not receive treatment as a part of this study. Participants who are HCV RNA positive will receive treatment via standard of care. The purpose of this study is to look at the effect of finger-stick point-of-care hepatitis C testing, to see if it increases the number of tests, diagnoses, and treatments for people with a risk factor of having hepatitis C in Australia.

Chronic stress shunt tryptophan which is essential amino acid toward kynurenic pathway leading to lower level of serotonin and melatonin level. Currently, direct-acting antivirals (DAAs) show well-established efficacy against hepatitis C virus (HCV).

The study aims to assess the effectiveness of a model of hepatitis C screening and integrated care, targeting people who inject drugs (PWIDs) in Hai Phong, Vietnam. In a wider perspective, this model linked to mass screening through repeated Respondent Driven Sampling (RDS) surveys, to simplified treatment protocol, and to large community-based support to improve referral to care, retention in care, adherence to treatment and prevention of reinfection, may have the potential to eliminate HCV among PWIDs in this city.
