Treatment of Egyptian Hepatitis C Genotype 4 Infected Children (and Adolescents) With Combined Sofosbuvir...

Hepatitis C Genotype 4

This is an open, uncontrolled pilot study of thirty chronic HCV infected patients carried out at Yassin Abdel Ghaffar Charity Center for Liver Disease and Research. The aim of this study is to investigate the safety & efficacy of combined therapy sofosbuvir (SOF) and daclatasvir (DCV) for treating HCV Genotype 4 in children aged 8 to 18. Due to previous positive results in other clinical studies of this drug it is expected that the drug will have high safety and high efficacy. Safety will be measured by checking for adverse effects, while efficacy will be measured by Real-Time Quantitative Polymerase Chain Reaction (qPCR) detecting viral nucleic acids in blood samples.

A Study for G1b CHC Patients With CKD-3 Treated With Grazoprevir Plus Elbasvir

Hepatitis C ViralChronic Kidney Disease stage3

The regimen using grazoprevir plus elbasvir treatment is promising in Japan, because it may safely be used for the elderly patients with renal dysfunction. Grazoprevir and elbasvir are metabolized in the liver and do not require dose-adjustment for patients with renal dysfunction. However, no data related to efficacy and safety of the grazoprevir plus elbasvir treatment for Japanese elderly patients with renal dysfunction (eGFR<60 mL/min/1.73m2) have been reported. Therefore, physicians are at a loss whether or not to treat the patients with renal dysfunction due to no evidence. The aim of this study is to investigate the improvement of serum endostatin level of Japanese patients with CKD stage 3 after grazoprevir (NS3/4A protease inhibitor) plus elbasvir (NS5A replication complex inhibitor) treatment by a prospective, multicenter cohort study.

A Study of Peginterferon Alfa-2a (Pegasys) and Ribavirin (Copegus) Combination Therapy in Participants...

Hepatitis CChronic

This study will evaluate the pharmacokinetics (area under the curve [AUC], maximum concentration [Cmax], and other parameters) and tolerability of peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin combination therapy following single and multiple doses in participants with CHC infection and moderate to severe renal impairment or end-stage renal disease (ESRD) receiving hemodialysis. The anticipated time on study treatment is up to 48 weeks, and the target sample size is 48 individuals.

Chronic Hepatitis C

The primary objectives of this study are to evaluate safety, efficacy, and tolerability of treatment with sofosbuvir/velpatasvir (SOF/VEL) for 12 weeks in adults on dialysis for end stage renal disease (ESRD) with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection of any genotype.

Safety and Efficacy of Generic Sofosbuvir and Ribavirin for Treatment-naive Genotype 2 Chronic Hepatitis...

Hepatitis CChronic2 more

This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of generic sofosbuvir, an investigational anti-hepatitis C virus (HCV) drug, combined with weight-adjusted ribavirin for treatment-naive Chinese adults chronically infected with genotype 2 HCV, the second most prevalent genotype in China. One hundred and thirty-two (132) subjects, including one hundred and twenty (120) non-cirrhotics and twelve (12) compensatory cirrhotics, were medicated with sofosbuvir 400 mg daily combined with weight-adjusted ribavirin 1000-1200 mg daily. The treatment course lasted 12 successive weeks and thereafter all the study participants entered into a 12-week treatment-free follow-up period.

Counseling Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) Positive Patients for Cardiovascular Disease Risk Factors

Hepatitis CAtherosclerosis

The study aims to compare the effect of a cardiovascular education package intervention on treatment-seeking behavioral outcomes of HCV+ patients. This prospective multicenter trial will compare outcomes between the intervention group (HCV+ patients receiving the enhanced education package) and the control group (HCV+ patients receiving the standard of care, the basic education package). The primary outcome measured will be successful linkage to hepatology for a discussion of HCV treatment options. The secondary outcome measured will be linkage to primary care for chronic disease management.
