A Phase 3 Study of Telaprevir in Combination With Pegasys® and Copegus® in Treatment-Naive Subjects...
Hepatitis CA Phase 3 study to evaluate the efficacy and safety of two dosing regimens of telaprevir in combination with pegylated interferon alfa 2a (Peg-IFN-alfa-2a) and ribavirin (RBV).

Peginterferon Plus Ribavirin for Hepatitis C Patients Concomitant With Malignancy Other Than Hepatocellular...
Chronic Hepatitis CNeoplasmsCombination therapy with pegylated interferon-alpha plus ribavirin has greatly improved the treatment efficacy and is the mainstream of treatment for chronic hepatitis C infection. The efficacy and safety of pegylated interferon-alpha plus ribavirin combination therapy and its impact on the outcome in chronic hepatitis C patients concomitant with malignancy other than hepatocellular carcinoma deserve to be elucidated. The purposes of this study are: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of pegylated interferon-alpha 2a plus ribavirin combination therapy in chronic hepatitis C patients concomitant with malignancy other than hepatocellular carcinoma, compare to those without systemic malignancy. To investigate the role of baseline and on-treatment factors on the response to pegylated interferon-alpha 2a plus ribavirin combination therapy in chronic hepatitis C patients concomitant with malignancy other than hepatocellular carcinoma.

Safety and Efficacy of the Therapeutic Vaccine GI-5005 Combined With Pegylated Interferon Plus Ribavirin...
Genotype 1 Chronic Hepatitis CThe GI-5005 therapeutic vaccine in combination with standard of care or standard of care alone will be injected under the skin of HCV subjects. Patients will be monitored for safety, immune responses and any therapeutic benefits related to the injections including EVR, ETR, and SVR.

SHO-SAIKO-TO for Patients With Chronic Hepatitis C: A Phase II Study
Hepatitis CResearchers want to see whether Sho-saiko-to (SST) can help in patients with chronic hepatitis C. Chronic hepatitis C may cause swelling within the liver and this can lead to scar tissue. In some patients, severe scarring of the liver, liver failure and liver cancer can occur. Standard treatment for chronic hepatitis C is a drug called interferon with or without another drug called ribavirin. There are a number of side effects that some patients are unable to take. Other patients may have an initial response, but then the virus and the inflammation come back. Sho-saiko-to is an herbal medicine that has been used for many years in Asia to treat liver disease. The purpose of the study is to evaluate whether Sho-saiko-to may improve liver swelling and injury caused by chronic hepatitis C.

Pegasys and Copegus for Asian Patients With Treatment-naive Hepatitis C Genotypes 6, 7, 8, 9
Chronic Hepatitis CAsian Americans2 moreThe purpose of this research study is to test the safety, tolerability, and effectiveness of the drugs Pegasys and Copegus when used for hepatitis C genotypes 6, 7, 8, and 9. Patients are randomly assigned (by chance) to either Treatment Group A (Pegasys and Copegus for 24 weeks) or Treatment Group B (Pegasys and Copegus for 48 weeks).

Study to Evaluate the Safety, Tolerability, and Pharmacokinetics of MK-3281 in Healthy and Hepatitis...
Hepatitis CThis study will examine the safety, tolerability and plasma pharmacokinetics of multiple doses of MK-3281 in healthy male participants in Part I, and in Hepatitis C Virus (HCV)-infected male participants in Part II. The clinical efficacy of MK-3281, as measured by viral load reduction, will also be assessed in Part II. The primary hypothesis is that twice daily administration of MK-3281 for 10 days in healthy adult male participants and for 7 days in HCV-infected male participants is sufficiently safe and well tolerated, based on assessment of clinical and laboratory adverse experiences, to permit continued clinical investigation. The results of this study will guide dose selection for future studies in both healthy participants and HCV-infected participants.

Study of Nitazoxanide, Peginterferon Alfa-2a and Ribavirin in Treatment-Naive Hepatitis C Patients...
Chronic Hepatitis CThe purpose of this study is to determine if nitazoxanide in combination with peginterferon alfa-2a and ribavirin is safe and effective in treating chronic hepatitis C in treatment-naive patients.

Double-Blind, Dose-Escalation Study of IDX184 in Chronic Hepatitis C Treatment-Naïve Subjects
Chronic Hepatitis C (HCV)This is a proof-of-concept study which will provide data about the safety and antiviral activity of several doses of the investigational drug IDX184 given for 3 days in treatment-naive HCV genotype 1-infected subjects so that optimal doses can be chosen for testing in later studies.

Safety and Efficacy of Vaniprevir (MK7009) Administered With Pegylated-Interferon and Ribavirin...
Hepatitis CA study to evaluate how effective different levels of Vaniprevir (MK-7009), when administered with Pegylated-Interferon (Peg-IFN) and Ribavirin, are at achieving rapid viral response (RVR) i.e., undetectable hepatitis C virus [HCV] viral ribonucleic acid [RNA] at Week 4 in participants with chronic HCV infection. The primary hypothesis was that the proportion of participants in one or more of the Vaniprevir treatment groups achieving RVR would be greater than the proportion of placebo participants achieving RVR when Vaniprevir and placebo were co-administered with Peg-IFN/Ribavirin.

Albinterferon Alfa 2b Single Dose in Japanese Chronic Hepatitis C Patients
Chronic Hepatitis CThis study will evaluate safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of albinterferon alfa 2b (alb-IFN) single dose in Japanese chronic hepatitis C patients
