
Albumin Infusion in Inpatients With Decompensated Cirrhosis
Decompensated CirrhosisAcute-On-Chronic Liver FailureAlbumin infusion in patients with hospitalized decompensated, even in short-term period use, could improve survival through the reduction of systemic inflammation, which is the main driver of acute-on-chronic liver failure in cirrhosis. The effects could be highly associated with the albumin dosage. A comprehensive evaluation of the inflammation response by robust measurement is needed to prove insights into the therapeutic implications of albumin infusion. The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of different amount of human albumin infusion per week in patients with hospitalized decompensated cirrhosis on 28-day transplant-free survival and to further compare the alleviation of inflammation, reduction of incidence of nosocomial infection, spontaneous bacterial peritonitis (SBP), acute kidney injury (AKI), acute-on-chronic liver failure (ACLF), and 90-day transplant-free survival. This will be a multicenter, national, retrospective study. There will be no randomization in this retrospective study. All patients who meet the inclusion criteria and not the exclusion criteria will be enrolled. All identified patients who meet criteria will be given an ID number comprised of a site number and patient number.

Treatment of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis(IPF) by REGEND001
Idiopathic Pulmonary FibrosisIdiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a serious chronic (long term) disease with injury of lung tissues. REGEND001 Autologous Therapy Product, made from bronchial basal cells with ability to regenerate lung tissue, is promising to IPF treatment. In this study, a single-armed clinical trial is ongoing to assess the safety and tolerability of REGEND001 Autologous Therapy Product in treatment of IPF. Different doses of REGEND001 Autologous Therapy Product is evaluated to establish a dose-response relationship and to recommend appropriate dose for subsequent clinical trials.

OPTIMIzing muScle Preservation in paTients wIth Cirrhosis
ObesityCompensated Cirrhosis1 morePatients with obesity and cirrhosis benefit from weight loss but are prone to sarcopenia (loss of muscle mass, strength, and function). This study proposes to test a specialized weight loss program Alternative-day Modified Fasting (ADMF) designed to promote weight loss and preserve skeletal muscle mass, strength, and function in patients with both Child-Pugh (CP) class A cirrhosis and obesity. This study will compare the effectiveness of the ADMF to Continuous Energy Restriction (CER) for 24-weeks. Both arms will receive a high-protein, high-BCAA diet, a late-night snack, supervised aerobic and resistance exercise, increased physical activity through self-monitoring, and group behavioral counseling. The primary aim of this trial is to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of ADMF and CER for 6 months in patients with cirrhosis and obesity. The secondary aim is to compare changes in body composition in both diets.
