AZISAST Study: AZIthromycin in Severe ASThma Study
AsthmaThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy, safety and cost-effectiveness of azithromycin as add-on therapy in adult subjects with severe persistent asthma, who remain inadequately controlled despite GINA (2006) step 4 or 5 therapy.

Study Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of MN-221 as an Adjunct to Standard Therapy in Subjects...
AsthmaThe objective of this clinical study is to examine the safety and effectiveness of intravenous MN-221 compared to placebo when administered as an adjunct to standard therapy in subjects experiencing an acute exacerbation of asthma.

Study in Mild Asthmatic Patients
AsthmaThe purpose of this study is to determine the safety and usefulness of GSK2190915 in asthmatic patients who develop asthma symptoms following being challenged.

Single Dose Study of the Effect of Formoterol Fumarate in Combination With Mometasone Furoate Inhaled...
AsthmaThis study is being conducted to compare the pharmacodynamics (bronchodilation, onset and duration of action), of a single dose of formoterol fumarate in combination with mometasone furoate to placebo in children of 5-11 years with persistent asthma. The study will also assess the bronchodilatory effect of a single dose of formoterol fumarate alone and in combination with mometasone furoate delivered via a pressurized metered dose inhaler (pMDI) to the bronchodilatory effect of formoterol fumarate delivered via a dry powder inhaler (DPI). Furthermore, pharmacokinetic assessments of plasma and urine will also be conducted throughout the study to assess systemic exposure following administration of the study medication.

Fenzian Asthma Multicenter Outcomes Study
AsthmaThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of Fenzian™ treatment on symptoms (such as shortness of breath), lung function (how well the lungs work), and albuterol/salbutamol (rescue medication) use in people with asthma. This will be done by comparing the effects of Fenzian™ treatment to the effects of a sham treatment, which looks the same as the Fenzian™ device but doesn't do anything. The Fenzian™ device is an electrical instrument that the investigators hope will help reduce airway inflammation associated with asthma symptoms by stimulating the nerves with very low electrical currents. The study device will be applied directly to the skin on the back, working along the ribs toward the spine, alternating between left and right sides, and on your face.

Study of Inhaled Glucocorticosteroids/Long-Acting Bronchodilator Drugs in Subjects With Asthma That...
AsthmaThis study is being conducted to demonstrate the non-inferiority between two inhaled glucocorticosteroids and long-acting bronchodilator combination drugs called mometasone furoate/formoterol fumarate in a metered-dose inhaler (MDI) and fluticasone propionate/salmeterol in a dry powder inhaler (DPI) on lung function. Information on the onset of action, the overall safety, and how the drugs control asthma will also be assessed. The study is approximately 1 year in duration.

A Study Of GSK679586A When Infused Into Healthy And Mild Asthmatic Volunteers
AsthmaThis is a two part study. Part I is designed to test single doses of GSK678586A in healthy volunteers. Part II is designed to test repeat doses (two doses) of GSK679586A in patients with mild asthma. Both parts are designed to investigate the safety, tolerability and the way the body absorbs GSK679586A when given by intravenous infusion (through a vein in your arm).

Clinical Assessment Of GW815SF HFA MDI In Pediatric Patients With Bronchial Asthma
Bronchial AsthmaTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of GW815SF HFA MDI 25/50µg 1 inhalation bid in comparison with concomitant treatment with salmeterol xinafoate DPI 25µg 1 inhalation bid plus fluticasone propionate DPI 50µg 1 inhalation bid in paediatric patients with asthma. To evaluate the safety of long-term treatment of GW815SF HFA MDI 25/50µg 1 inhalation bid in paediatric patients with asthma.
